Angel Fire, NM

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

We just arrived in Angel Fire, New Mexico. The altitude is 8,328 ft. I hope we all don't get altitude sickness. We have been staying at over 5,000 ft for the last couple of weeks. I hope that is enough to acclimate us.

This is the view from our back window.

The garage in the middle of the picture doesn't help anything. We are in the overflow area for tonight. We will move to a better spot tomorrow.

Stetson was a pain for the whole trip. He would not lay down or shut up. He woofed most of the trip. Part of the problem was that I forgot to feed him in the morning. That can't be the whole explanation, though, because I feed him at 11:30 and he still did it for the next 3 hours.

We stopped 4 times to let him out to pee (and poop). Maybe he was upset that he spent yesterday in the car when when drove to Cripple Creek and then got in the car again today. As soon as he got in the trailer, he went to sleep.

The area around Angel Fire is pretty. It's too bad we have to look at a garage. You can see the ski resort in the background of the picture. That's the main source of income in the area.

The cell service is terrible. We are stuck with 3G service at medium bars. No streaming tonight. Luckily, the wi-fi seems to be the best we have had so far. I hope that lasts as long as we stay here.

I still need to talk about Cripple Creek and the Royal Gorge train trip, but I am tired and need to have a beer. I am drinking a Golden Ale that I brewed. It's pretty good. I will probably brew it again.

Wednesday update:

We moved to the new site this morning. It is greener and has trees. Here is the new view from our back window.
