Plans change, of course.
Yup, we are still in Austin. In fact, we will be in Austin longer than we thought we would.
When I ordered the new rim, they said it would be 7-10 business days for the rim to be delivered. I called and the rim has not been shipped. I ordered the rim from Ron Hoover RV who ordered it from Forest River (the manufacturer) who ordered it from Tredit Tires. I don't know who they order it from. Forest River hasn't shipped so I guess it is Tredit Tires who is waiting. I don't know what happened except that we don't have a wheel yet.
I do have a spare tire, but I don't want to put a lot of miles on it. I cancelled our stop at Lake Whitney. We will stay here in Austin until it's time to go to Kerrville. I hope the rim comes in time. If it doesn't, then I will have to drive back to Austin to pick it up.
We haven't done much here in Austin this time. Basically, we run errands and try to stay cool. We have 3 air conditioners on the roof and at least 2 are running at all times. you really notice it when they all go off at the same time. It becomes real quiet.
It is so hot that our ice maker can barely keep up. During the winter, I have to dump ice out of the drawer so it doesn't overflow. Now, the drawer is empty after dinner. The sun shines on the fridge side of the trailer so the fridge has a hard time keeping up with the heat.
New House News:
There is no news. Our real estate agent hasn't given us any updates so we still don't know if they have started yet. They said they would start last week, but who knows.
Beer News:
That's my Maple Pecan Stout. The foam has gone down and left dried foam on the sides of the fermenter. I tasted it. It's not quite ready. It has been hot here and that has slowed the fermentation down some. The best temperature is 72º, but if you look closely at the thermometer, it's been running at 79º. It's almost there.
The Golden Ale that I bottled a couple of weeks ago is almost ready. I will put a bottle in the fridge tomorrow and see how it's going.
