We are now in Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
We came to Arlington to look at a new trailer. This trailer is fine, but it does have it's problems. Anyway, the new trailer is a Cardinal Fifth Wheel. A little bigger with more storage space, a better refrigerator (with no chance of burning up). Here is a look at it. We have a different color scheme with dark fabric instead of the light fabric in the pictures.
More about the new trailer later. We don't actually have it yet.
We drove through Dallas. It was actually the best drive through a major city so far. Once we got off the freeway is a different matter. We had to drive through 3 leaves of a clover leaf interchange. That was fun. Denver was the worst major city so far. Highway 25 is under construction for most of the state. We had to get to New Mexico to get out of the construction zone. The south side of El Paso is not the most scenic place in the world and the RV park was in an industrial area. People we've met said the north side is better. San Antonio might have been better, but from where we stayed, the surface streets to get to the freeway were confusing. Houston routed us through too many toll roads. Going through Dallas was easy and the traffic wasn't too bad for a Wednesday afternoon. If we had hit at rush hour, it might have been a different story.
The KOA is an urban park. We are in a mostly business district with a giant mall near by. The park itself is very nice, but getting in and out is a pain.
This is a short stop. We still have to go to Lubbock to get our drivers licenses. For that we leave tomorrow. Our new itinerary is on the Where Are We page.
