Another travel day through the smoke. The air quality is listed as Unhealthy. There was a layer of ash on everything outside when we were packing up.

You can kind of see the smoke from the RV park picture. Here is how it looked as we drove down I90.

In some places, the visibility was even worse.

Miscellaneous fact about Big Timber, MT. Michael Keaton is from there. He got out and kept going.

They have a prairie dog park in Big Timber. Here are some pictures.

We went over the Great Divide today at 6,394 ft. That means that we are on the western slope of the US. It's all down hill to the Pacific. I wish it was all down hill, but we are still in the Rockies so I am sure we can go up a couple more thousand feet.

We are staying at another KOA park. KOA's are handy when you need a place to stay for a couple of days. You really don't want to stay in one for a week or longer (unless you have kids). The fancier ones have a lot of things for kids to do like play grounds, basketball courts, tennis (pickle ball) courts, bounce pillows and stuff like that. Not a lot for adults. There are exceptions like Lake Okeechobee KOA which has a bar and a golf course.

KOA's have 3 levels of parks. The most common are Journey parks. That's what we try to stay at. They don't have a lot of amenities, but they usually are easy to get in and out of and they usually have full hookups (and they are cheaper). The next step up is Holiday parks. These are larger and have more stuff for kids. Most have some kind of water park instead of just a pool. The highest level (and most expensive) is Destination parks. These have Holiday level amenities but are close to some kind of other attraction like Mt Rushmore, Niagra Falls, and Orlando FL.

Janelle told Jan that the Durango RV park in Red Bluff was bought by KOA. It will probably be a Journey park because it is medium size and doesn't have enough amenities to be called a Holiday park. It has the size, so it probably add more amenities to become one if they want.

It's beer time so I am signing off.
