Today was a sightseeing day.
Besides the two horses I photoed yesterday, there are also two miniature horses. Kim, here is a picture of one for you.
Our sightseeing trip took us into Cañon City, along a road called Skyline Drive (which Jan hated), and a trip to the rim of the Royal Gorge.
Skyline Drive is a short, one way road that goes along the top of a ridge back. The reason I wanted to go one the drive is that there are great views and there are dinosaur tracks along the side of the road. The reason Jan did not want to go on the drive is that there are cliffs on both sides of the road
Our second stop was the rim of the Royal Gorge. We walked a little ways along the rim. We didn’t go on the bridge over the gorge because it costs $29 per person and we will take the train tomorrow and see the bridge from the bottom.
The final stop of the day was back in Cañon City. We stopped at a place called Brews and Bikes. It has an outside beer garden that allows dogs. I had a Soulcraft All Mountain Amber and a Soulcraft X-Ray IPA. Jan had a Bristol Beehive Honey Wheat and a Skier Pee Lemon Citrus Wine. All four of us split an order of cheese curds.
On our way back to the truck, I saw the new cigarette butt litter.
