Clermont, FL

We extended our stay here in Clermont. We were scheduled to leave yesterday, but changed our minds.

We are staying at the Cypress Marina and Resort on the shore of Lake Minnehaha. It's a small resort, mostly built around the marina. They have slips for about 70 boats. They call themselves a resort because they have 10 RV sites and 10 tiny homes for rent. This is the smallest resort we've stayed at.

When we pulled in, was only one other trailer here. Later, 2 more trailers pulled in. The 2 new trailers only stayed for the weekend so it is back down to 2 trailers. This makes it a very quiet place to stay. The RV spots weren't designed, they were put in where they could and the existing plumbing and electricity were not redone to fit the sites. Our water is outside the front door of the trailer. Water and sewer are easy to reach though. That's not true for the spot across the road from us. The water and sewer are on the wrong side of the spot. It pays to carry extra hoses and things. Other than the hook up layout, this is a great place to stay. The view out of our front window is the marina and the lake. We also get the sunrise. The picture at the top of the blog is a sunrise. The colors have been enhance so it really wasn't that red. It's a good picture though. Here is what the sunrise looks like in actual color.

They take the spring break resort par seriously here. Normally, the bar is opened Thursday to Sunday, but for the next couple of weeks, they will keep it open every day. They have live music on the weekends. Usually just one person with a guitar and an amp. They also have food trucks on the weekends. All the lakes are connected and people land on the beach and party it up at the bar.

I got my first Covid shot on Tuesday. Georgia lowered the age to 55 so we drove 300 miles to Valdosta, GA and they gave me a shot with no questions asked.

I have updated the Where Are We page with our schedule that takes us through September and all the way back to Sacramento. I haven't made all the reservations, but I have made a big dent. The closest we could get to Yellowstone is 90 miles. I put in a request for a reservation near Glacier National park, but they haven't responded back yet. If anything happens, I will have a lot of rescheduling to do.

I think I will replace the Where Are We page with the map on the Test Page. I need to finalize the icon looks and get the text cleaned up. I thinks it's a better view of our trip than just a list.

We stopped the trip in September because we want to fly to The Netherlands and see Jodi, Shelby, Roderick, and Runa. If Covid lets us. We also plan to hit at least 3 more countries (to be name later) while we are there.
