I am a little late with this one, we have been here a few days. We got here and have been doing maintenance stuff.

That's a pretty nice view. Here is the view from the other side of the trailer.

That's I5. It's very noisy. Those little bushes do not stop the sound.

Like I said, we have been doing maintenance stuff. It was time for truck maintenance. I took it in for an oil change, fuel filter change, cabin filter change, brake inspection, and tire rotation. While there, they said the struts are going out and need to be replaced soon. Both the front and back struts need to be replaced. We did put 10,000 miles of towing a fifth wheel on them. Today, I went to Home Depot to get some sand paper and wood filler to fix a door and the check engine light came on. I went to Auto Zone to have the code read and it said that the problem was that a turbo vane was not learned. They did not know what that meant. I don't know either. The good news was that the light went off after Auto Zone. I guess it can wait until Sacramento where I will get heavier struts put on.

I mentioned sand paper and wood filler above. The bedroom door is a sliding door. We forgot to snap it shut so when we traveled, it slid open and closed and hit the lock while it did that. The lock dented up and chipped the door. I glued the piece back on and used wood filler to smooth things up. It's not perfect, but it will do for now.

The trip here was a long one. We first went to Bend to have the trailer looked at. RV Outfitters is going to convert the spare bathroom into a pantry. They will take the toilet out and cap off all water and sewer lines. They will take the old sink and medicine cabinet out too. The drain and hot water will be capped off. The cold water will have a valve put in and left there. They will install L-shaped upper and lower cabinets that match the cabinets we already have. What they won't do is put in a counter top. We will have that done in Sacramento. Home Depot carries the same counters top material already in the trailer. It takes them about 3 weeks to manufacture. The cold water line will be left in so that I can run a water line up to a coffee pot. Jan has her eye on a Keurig that has no tank and runs off a water line.

To get ready for the bathroom/pantry remodel, I have been rinsing and draining the black water tank that goes with that bathroom. That tank is only used by that bathroom so after the remodel, it won't be used. We will leave it there so I need to make sure it is clean (and won't stink up the place).

Enough of the boring maintenance stuff.

We took a little trip to Florence to see the ocean. We made it coast-to-coast again. This time from Maine to Oregon.

We will be staying on the coast starting on September 1. We will go to Cloverdale, then to Coos Bay, then to Crescent City, then to Fortuna. Check it out on the map.

Tonight we are having dinner with my sister Kim. We had lunch with her a year ago when we start heading east.

Beer News:

I am a little disappointed with my Northwest Pale Ale. I don't know if it was the Kveick yeast or if I needed to add more priming sugar, but whatever the reason, it is a little flat. I have been juicing it up by adding a little of another beer. That seems to work. I probably should break out my pressurized growler and pour several bottles in there and use the CO2 cartridges to carbonate it. I may try that at our next stop.

My wheat beer should be ready to drink on Friday. If it's flat too, then I probably need to up the priming sugar when I bottle beer made with the Kveick yeast.

Site Maintenance News:

I added new pictures to my Favorite Photo page. It's getting kind of long so I will probably start deleting things next. Not all favorites are created equal.
