We get a chance to rest. We will spend a week here in Cody.

This is not one of the more memorable parks. We will probably forget the park and remember Cody and Yellowstone. The sites are small and you can see that I need to park the truck right in front of the trailer (barely off the road). It has no real view. About the only thing it has going for it is that it is fairly close to Yellowstone.

Yesterday, We felt like having a milkshake. There is a Burger King right next to the park so I went there first. They were out of ice cream so no milkshakes. There is a McDonalds right down the street so I went there. Just as I got there at 6:02pm, they closed down for cleaning and maintenance. We did not get our milkshakes.

Cody is a definite western town. Everything is named after Buffalo Bill Cody. There are buffalo, bear, and elk statues everywhere. They claim to be the rodeo center of the world and maybe they are because they have a rodeo every night at 8pm. There are at least 5 museums in town, the largest is the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Main St is a nice little street with all the tourist businesses there. One of those places is Irma's Hotel. The bar top was given to Buffalo Bill by Queen Victoria. I guess his Wild West show was a big hit in England.

In future news, we have a river cruise reserved. It will go up the Bighorn River Canyon. We hope to see a lot of wildlife. It has been so hot that everything (deer, elk, moose, antelope, big horn sheep, mountain goats, and bears) all seek to be asleep when we go looking. We did take a trip a little way into Yellowstone Park. That will be a blog for tomorrow. Pictures are up on the Wyoming page if you want a sneak peak.

Beer News:

We went to a brewery called Pat O'Hara's. They only make 3 beers; Attitude Adjustment Red Ale, Livin' the Dream Pale Ale, and whatever other beer they feel like making. When we were there, the third beer was gone so they just had 2 of their own. To make up for it, they do have 30 beers from other breweries. I liked the Attitude Adjustment Red better than the pale ale. They weren't good enough to fill up my second growler though.

There is another brewery in town. It's called WYOld West Brewery. We will get there sometime this week.

I finally made a batch of beer on Sunday. This one is a Northwest Pale Ale and I used the Kviek yeast. It is supposed to be very fast. If you can keep the temperature above 100º it can be ready in 2-3 days. I am trying to keep it around 90º so I think it will be ready by Thursday or Friday.
