Columbus, TX

We are acually in Livingston, TX, but I didn't blog anything when we were in Columbus.

There really isn't much to say about Columbus since we were only there for one night. We got there and set up the trailer then we went out to dinner. There was an Italian restaurant open so we went there instead of fast food. I had Chicken Verona and Jan had Chicken something. I don't remember the name. The food was good and plentiful. We both took some home. The tiramisu was not great. It was made from cake instead of lady fingers and it had been soaking in espresso too long and was very soggy.

The RV park was a Thousand Trails park so it was free for the night. I would have to say that the park was better maintained than the Medina Lake park. We will probably stay here again some day.

The only things memorable about the stay was the stickers and the bugs. There were little round sticker balls that are able to puncture shoes. Jan calls them Puncture Vine. I spent a part of the night picking stickers off of the entry mat and the carpet under the dining table.

The other memorable thing was the bugs. They have dung beetles. The dogs pooped in the evening like they always do. In the morning, the beetles had broken the poop up into balls and were using their hind legs to roll the poop balls around.

Today was another travel day and we are in Livingston Texas. The plan is to get our truck and trailer Texas registration and to get our drivers licenses. On our way to the park, we stopped at Grease Monkey's and got the truck and trailer inspected. That's the first step. The hard part will be dealing with the government during Covid-19. That will be a saga that I will blog about.
