Conroe - Last Post From the Trailer

We close tomorrow and move in to the house on Wednesday.

Some sunsets make it look like everything's on fire. This picture was taken from the field just behind the trailer. They are making a new section of the park and for now, it is just an empty field that looks over to a farm house. They have 3 big dogs at that house, but you can't see them in this picture.

We have to go in at noon tomorrow (Tuesday) and sign all the house papers. It is supposed to take an hour. After that, we drive back to the Bonterra office to pick up the house keys and the house is officially ours.

Because we will be gone a long time tomorrow, we decided to put Brie in doggy daycare at a place called Dogtopia. Before they will accept Brie, we had to bring her in for an evaluation. We left here there for most of the day. They gave her an A+ for her behavior with people and other dogs. I only mention this because of the picture they took of her. That's one of the best Brie pictures ever.

We were driving around the area near the house, coming back from dropping stuff off at the storage unit and saw this.

You can't get more Texas than that. That cow looks exactly like the mascot for the Univ. of Texas Longhorns. If I had my camera, I could have taken a more close up shot. This was the best I could do with my phone.

Here are some more longhorns.

Here is our schedule for the next few days.

Monday (today): Fill the truck up with gas and get some propane for the trailer.

Tuesday: Go the the title company and sign papers.

Wednesday:

  • Meet the movers at the storage unit and start moving stuff.

  • Meet the delivery guys bringing the new fridge.

  • Move stuff from the trailer to the house so we can stay there overnight.

Thursday:

  • Get the trailer washed and waxed

  • Move over any last stuff

  • Clean the trailer

Friday:

  • Clean all the storage areas in the trailer

  • Do any final touch up fixes and touch up painting

Saturday:

  • Take the trailer to PPL to either sell or consign (depending on how much they will give us)

  • This will be the end of the nomadic era of our lives.
