Conroe, TX - Again

Population: 89,956 Elevation: 205'

End of the line.

The Lake Conroe park is not our favorite park. The only thing is has going for it is that it's free for us and it's not too far from the new house.

We pulled into town on Monday evening and we had a walk through of the house with the builder on Tuesday morning. We spent over 2 hours going over the whole house. He showed us how to use everything in the house and we pointed out all the cosmetic things that he still needed to fix, like paint spots that were missed and a scratched door to the attic. As we drove up, the most obvious thing to fix was the driveway. They tore the whole thing out.

When the brought in all the pallets of sod, they put them on the driveway. They are not supposed to put them on the driveway, but we don't have a big front yard so the only place that had room was the driveway. The forklift they used gouged up the driveway. The builder didn't even wait for us to complain, he just had ripped it out. A new driveway was poured after we left and we drove by today and took a look at it. Yup, it was a new slab of concrete.

Here's a picture of the backyard with all the sod.

We have a lot of grass to mow.

Our time in the trailer is winding down. We will move out of the trailer and into the house next Wednesday (Feb 15).

Here is something that just happens when you live on the road.

That's our bike cover. Three years of being in the sun and on the road has taken it's toll. That big rip is new. That happened on this trip from Yuma to here. The broken straps and other rips have gradually happened over the past couple of years. The middle section used to be black. I moved the bikes to the storage unit and threw that poor excuse for a cover in the trash.
