We are about a half a mile from the Pelican Bay Correction Center. I don't know if that means anything.
This is a nice place but at 60º, it is a little chilly. The whole drive today was chilly and foggy. Sometimes the fog broke for a few miles, but it always came back. We have been on this section of coast so much, that we knew all the stores, restaurants, and sites from Coos Bay down to here in Crescent City. We knew which store has the cheapest growler fills (the Beverage Barn in Bandon has $12 fills and 2 for the price of one on Tuesdays). The only problem is that Covid had cut down on the number of beers they have for fills.
The truck survived the trip. The brakes didn't make any noises today and no flat tires.
We haven't heard from the cabinet maker yet so we still don't know when we need to go back up to Bend for installation. We need to hear from them soon so we can make plans to go back up there. The plan is to go from Fortuna to Red Bluff or Weed and then up to Bend, but if things aren't ready by next week, then that plan is off. We don't have any reservations yet anyway.
