We are now in the deep south in Alabama. We drove along the Mississippi/Tennessee border for most of the day yesterday and made it too northern Alabama.
Point Mallard is a big place. It has a 300+ space campground, an 18 hole golf course, an amusement park, and a water park. The amusement park and water park are closed for the season (I don't know if they were open this summer). There are 2 parts of the campground. One part you can almost see in the picture is in the trees. We are in the second part, and it is out in the open under some power lines. This seems to be where they put the long term people. At least here in the open, the satellite dish gets a signal. Under the trees, there is no satellite, no cable, and only about 4 over the air channels. That would have been bad for opening week of football.
Brie is not too happy. It doesn't have a dog park. She will have to stay on a leash. There are large, grassy areas for her to run in, just on a leash.
We had a big thunderstorm last night and Brie was scared. Jan had to put her in her lap and wrap her up in a blanket. The lightning flash and the thunder were almost at the same time.
