Change of plans. We were supposed to be staying at a place called the Horseshoe RV Park in Ranger, TX. It was a dump. Jan says it looks like it came out from a serial killer movie. If anyone reading this is planning to stay somewhere between Dallas and Abilene, don't stay there. We pulled in and pulled out without registering.
We went a few miles down the road to Eastland and found a brand new RV park called Wandering Oaks RV Park. They opened in July. We may be the first people using this site.
The people running the place are really nice. Everything is brand new and it all works. Unlike some Thousand Trails parks where 25% of the sites are out of commission. I told them about RVTripWizard.com for researching and booking stays. They also wanted to know what review sites we use so I told them Campendium.com and CampgroundReviews.com.
If there is a tornado, we will hear the siren. You can see the siren on the tower in the background.
