This park is kind of an industrial park. I think most of the sites are for long term people. The temporary people are put in a section with a lovely view of a trucking parking lot and I10.
It's only one night. We will survive the terrible view and the 100 degree heat.
The drive through New Mexico was interesting. Here is a list of some of the things we passed by:
The VLA (Very Large Array) radio telescope site.
Alamogordo, the first atomic bomb test site
Space Port America
Apache reservation
The Rio Grande,
Truth or Consequences, NM
Route 66,
White Sands Missile Range (and Space Shuttle landing strip)
Lots of mesas and canyons (but not like the Valley of the Gods)
I don't expect a lot from tomorrow's trip. We are heading down I10 to Fort Stockton for another overnight stay.
