Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

That's what Thanksgiving in the desert looks like.

On to the usual blog.

Fort Stockton should change its name to Purgatory. It's not quite Hell, but it's not a place we want to come back to.

The last time we were here, hail dented up the truck. If you zoom in on the roof of the truck, you can still see dents in the roof.

The RV park looks ok, but don't let looks deceive you. There are little goat head stickers all over the ground. We have to check our shoes before we come into the trailer. You don't want to step on one but they do get in the trailer and we do step on them with bare feet. We will probably keep finding them for weeks after this.

The water here tastes terrible. I have a water softener, a filter coming in to the trailer, and we have a Brita water filter, but we can still taste the water. We will have to dump out all our ice cubes when we get to the next stop because they were made with terrible water.

Last but not least, my truck battery died. I had to run in to town and get a new one. My truck has 2 batteries so I didn't need to jump it. Normal, small cars only have 2 wires connected to the battery, but this truck has 8. I had to take a picture to make sure I replaced everything in the correct place.

We wouldn't stay in Fort Stockton any more, but we kind of have to. There is really no place else to stay between El Paso and Kerrville. West Texas is a very unpopulated area.

House Updates:

We won't be able to drive over and see the house being built any more. From now on, we have to rely on the builder and maybe, our neighbor, Chuck. He has sent us a couple of pictures so far. He admitted that he goes into the unfinished houses to see how they are going.

We got an update from the builder yesterday. They haven't fixed the tiles yet. They are working on the floors and driveway now. They did a terrible job with floating the concrete of the slab. Our inspector said it was the worst job he had ever seen. The flooring guys had to bring in a grinder and smooth down the concrete. They haven't actually put down any flooring yet though, just getting the concrete ready for the flooring.

About the only visible thing they've down in the past week is that they've installed the coach lights on the garage.
