Gloucester, VA

We are in the heart of tobacco country now. We passed a lot of tobacco shops on the way here.

The trip here was interesting. We had to go through a 2 mile tunnel that was 13 feet 6 inches tall. Our trailer is 13 feet 3 inches tall. I was worried that a bump or pot hole would bounce us up to hit the roof or that the trailer specs were a little off and we were actually higher than I thought. No problems though. We made it through without scraping the air conditioners. Jan hunched down like she was going to hit her head.

The Virginia countryside is beautiful in the spring. The trees are mostly leafed out, dogwoods and other flowering trees were blooming. Azaleas and wisterias are still blooming.

We went past Langley, VA so the CIA knows we are here.

The park is a Thousand Trails park so it is free, but it is not spectacular. As far a Thousand Trails parks go, this is a good one. Not too many permanent, falling apart trailers here. The scenery is good, lots of trees and we are on a lake and a very large river.

We will rate this park as average for RV parks, but good for Thousand trails. Brie rates the dog park very high. It is large, grassy, and has things to climb over and crawl under. No found toys though and she does like to find balls and sticks in the dog park.

The weather will be bad through the weekend. It was cold and windy yesterday and today. Saturday and Sunday will be we rainy. Not much site seeing then.

We took Porter to get groomed for the first time. He does not seem to be traumatized, but he should be. It is a bad haircut. He looks lumpy, like the groomer missed random places. Brie laughs at him.

Not much else to report. We do need to replan the Wisconsin leg of the trip. I can't get in to one of the Thousand Trails parks so we need to come up with a plan B.
