Yesterday was Jan’s birthday. To celebrate, we went to the Columbia Restaurant and had tapas and dessert.
The Columbia Restaurant is the oldest restaurant in n Florida. It was started in 1905. It says it is a Spanish restaurant, but it also has a lot of Cuban food.
We had crab cakes, calamari, scallops, green salads, and flan and churros for desert.
The beer selection is terrible. Only one beer on tap, Estrella. Jan had a sangria.
Today is our anniversary, 24 years. We didn’t do much to celebrate it, just went out to lunch. It was okay, not great.
On another note, I bottled my Salty Dawg Gosé. It should be ready to drink in 6 weeks. The instructions say only 2 weeks, but that hasn’t worked since I have been on the road and can’t control the temperature well enough.
I tried my Breakfast Stout that I bottled back in December. I think it turned out good. I can taste the sweetness of the syrup, but not as much of the maple flavor. Next time I will add more syrup. I tried a bottle of my American Ale that I bottled in January and it is not carbonated enough. I will let it sit for another 2 weeks.
I finished our taxes in record time this year. I filed on Friday, the first day you could file. Next year will be even easier since I won’t have a W2 or anything to do with a house or state taxes. Now the IRS has my correct bank information, in case there is a third stimulus payment.
That’s it for now. Tomorrow is a travel day and we are heading for Sarasota.
