11am
Thanksgiving has begun. The Macy's sort of parade is on TV and the Bloody Marys are made.
We brined the turkey last night so it will be ready this afternoon.
More updates as the day goes on.
12:33pm
Football is starting! It's only Detroit and Houston, but it's still football.
Happy Birthday Hadley James Welch. She was born this morning.
Our football menu is cheese, salami, and crackers.
3:45pm
The first football game is almost over. Houston creamed Detroit.
The turkey is on the grill. I brined it last night in water, home brewed beer, Himalayan salt, and brown sugar. We have never tried this before. I hope it works.
The menu is:
Turkey
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Green beans
Rolls
Gravy
Pecan pie for dessert
Beer and wine has just started. We are sitting outside in 83° and sunny weather. I am drinking a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA. Jan is drinking a Josh chardonnay.
I hope the next game is not a blow out.
5pm
Ok, this game is better so far.
The turkey is almost done.
Since the last post, the first football game finished, Brie went for a walk along the river and Stetson woke up.
I drank a Coppersmith Brewery's Free Dive IPA. I am now working on a 9 to 5 Stout from Tomoca Brew Pub. Jan is still drinking the Josh chardonnay.
6pm
Dinner is over. A brined turkey is good. It's not as salty as you would think and it is very moist and tender. I think we will do it again.
The pecan pie will probably wait a little while.
