Another day, another trip. Today was a longer day than usual. We drove over 5 hours and 300 miles.
This is a very spotty picture. I need to clean the trailer windshield.
Junction Texas is a very small town. The only reason we stopped here is that we didn't want to travel another 100 miles to the next actual city. We are only here for 2 nights so we can get through it, especially since there is no windstorm and there is a river one row behind us.
For dinner, I went to a little BBQ place a couple of blocks from here. It was pretty good. I had ribs and brisket and Jan had turkey. Plenty left over for sandwiches for the next couple of days.
I thought I talked about this in the Deming, NM blog, but I guess I missed it because we left early. We took a drive to Rock City State Park. Most of the hills around Deming are smooth and rolling. In one place though, the hills turn into boulders. They built a state park around it with camp sites inside the boulders. If we had a smaller camper, we could have stayed there a couple of nights. The sites do not have water, electricity or sewer hookups. One section that isn't in the rocks does have electricity, but who wants to go there and not stay in the rocks.
The first picture shows the boulders off in the distance. The last picture shows what all of the other hills around Deming looks like.
