Kerrville, TX - Second Visit

Population: 23,754 Elevation: 1,637

Kerrville is about 5º cooler than Austin. It's also windier.

We will be here for the entire month of August.

We need to find some things to do in the area. Fredericksburg is about 30 miles from here and it's the Texas wine country. It's kind of like Napa but with more cowboy stuff. We may go on a winery tour. They also have all the higher end restaurants that Kerrville doesn't have. There are some lakes near here if we want a road trip. We could go to San Antonio, but we will be staying there next so there is no point going there now.

Before we left Austin, we went to a baseball game. The Round Rock Express vs. the Sacramento River Cats. The River Cats won, 8-7. I did buy a Round Rock Chupacabra t-shirt. That's the alternate name for the Express. They use that name a couple time per season. We had good seats, one row up from the Express dugout.

House News:

No news since the last time. The project plan they sent us says that they are working on framing and roofing. No new pictures yet.

Beer News:

I brewed a batch of Bavarian Weissbier yesterday. It should be ready to bottle in 2 weeks. I think I will put half of the batch in the growler. I do have the time so I think I will brew a batch of Northwest Pale Ale next Monday.

The last batch I brewed was Golden Ale. I tasted one bottle and it's ready to drink. I will put those in the rotation now. Once I get the next 2 brewed, I will have a good rotation going.
