Kimball, Part 2

We are still close enough to see Canada, but not allowed to go over. Bummer. We will have to wait until our next trip north.

Here are some pictures of our wanderings around the area. There are more pictures on the Michigan photo page.

Port Huron has some good points. It also has one big bad point, it still hasn't warmed up from winter.

They have a riverwalk called The Blue Water Riverwalk. The St. Clair river is the blue water. Everything around here is named Blue Water something or other. Anyway, the riverwalk goes along the old piers (which have mostly been removed). They kept some of the old pilings and workings. They also added art along the trail. We went as far as we could with Brie. She can only go about a mile before pooping out.

The photos of Lake Huron are from up the coast a ways. We drove up there and looked around. The weather wasn't that great.

There is this thing called Rails to Trails. They take old, unused railroad tracks and turn them into bike and walking trails. There is one trail here that backs up on the back of the RV park. We took our bikes out on it and went for about 8 miles. It was a straight shot through woods and behind housing developments. Not a bad trip.

Tomorrow will be pain in the ass day. I have to get a trailer tire changed. It is still under warranty so I have take the tire off and bring it to Belles Tire Shop for an inspection. The tire company needs to know if it was my fault. They also need to know how much tire wear there is. If it's over 50%, then they start to cut down on how much they will reimburse me for the new tire. After the inspection, I have to go to Walmart to get the new tire put on the rim. One good thing about having a trailer with hydraulic levelers is that the levelers can lift the wheels of the ground and a jack isn't needed. I shouldn't leave it while I am running around so I will prop it up with a jack (just in case).
