This part of New Mexico is hot and dusty. Our RV Park is right on the highway.
The horse motel part is true. There is a very large area with corrals, stalls, and a barn.
Our spot is hot and dusty. There is a small tree that doesn’t even shade Brie.
There is absolutely nothing to do here. The town of what used to be Bernado seems to be abandoned. There is also a wildlife protection area, but all the roads to it are blocked. We needed groceries and we had to go 25 miles to Las Lunas to find some.
It was the 4th of July and the park had firework. Not wimpy California fireworks either. These were the mortar style that shot about 50 feet in the sky. It was definitely better than the Cameron Park fireworks. it went on from 9:30 to after 10.
For excitement we had this wandering around our site.
This is a Tarantula Hawk Wasp. It’s a little over an inch long. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it is a metallic blue color with orange wings.
Tomorrow we star a long road trip. 3 days straight of traveling.
