On Friday, we took a road trip to Fort Pierce. We just wanted to get out of the trailer.
This is where we stopped for a snack. It’s called Sailfish Brewing Company. I had a Pale Ale and an IPA. Jan had a Hefeweizen. Brie had a blast. There was a little girl who played with her for a while. We shouldn’t have, but we fed her pretzel. I really should keep one of my growlers in the truck for times like this. i would like to fill a growler with good beer because the stores here only sell cheap beer.
We took a drive down the coast after the brewery. The road was called The Indian River Scenic Drive. It was scenic. There are houses on one side and the Indian River on the other.
We made it to Port Saint Lucie. It’s further south and we didn’t want to drive up I95 and get back to the same road we came out on, so we took the back roads back. It was more scenic. On part of the road was real swamp on both sides for about 20 miles. I was driving so I don’t have any pictures.
I brewed another batch of beer before football started. I am writing this on Sunday night during the Kansas City and Buffalo game. This beer is one I have brewed before. It’s called Salty Dawg Gosè. A gosè is a sour beer. This one is only mildly sour. The main thing about this one is that it takes the juice and zest of one whole grapefruit. The last one was good and I have high hopes for this one.
