After a couple of days here, we have decided that this park is on par with Lake Medina, only without the deer. This campground has gnats instead. They keep the park mostly groomed, only not the RV spots, just the common areas. Which is weird since the RV spots are their purpose. Today, they shut off the water for the whole park. There was a leak in the main water line, and they had to dig it up and fix it. Here are some pictures of the park.
Our spot is not the greatest, but it does have 50amp electricity. The view is good or bad, based on where you look. The last blog had a picture from the window. That view isn't bad. Here is a picture from the front door.
That pile of wood is the remains of a deck. This site used to be someone's annual site and the park has not completely cleaned it up yet.
Here is a picture from the blind side of the trailer.
If only we could turn the trailer around.
We drove around the area today. Point Texas is just that, a point on the map. There isn't much there. Emory is a decent sized town and that's probably where most people go for shopping. There is East Tawakoni. I counted 5 liquor stores, a Dollar General, and a bait and tackle shop. West Tawakoni is the bigger town. Not too bad. The whole area is wooded farm land. Lot's of oak trees lining roads and property lines. Lots of hay fields. They like the giant rolls of hay instead of bales of hay.
The whole area is based on farms. Anyone from California's Central Valley will feel right at home here.
We will be cutting short our stay here. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Arlington. There is a trailer in Fort Worth we want to look at. It will be an upgrade to this one. Hopefully, the refrigerator won't ice up and need to be defrosted every couple of weeks. If we decide to buy it, our whole itenerary will be blown out of the water. We will have to spend more time in Texas in the summer time. The humidity in Lake Tawakoni is actually bearable so we may come back to this area, but probably not this campground.
I'm sorry the pictures at the top of the blog are a little over manipulated. I was trying to get smaller picture sizes uploaded and I over saturated them and maybe sharpened them up too much. I will keep working on it. The large size pictures look better, but they slow down the website. Next time I think will put the small pictures in the blog and the large pictures on the Photos page.
