KOA

The Bandon/Port Orford KOA is a beautiful Park. It has lots of tall trees and hedges between sites. My last post had a picture from our site and you can see what the area is like.

On the downside though, the water pressure is low and the wi-fi is barely useable. We can use the wi-fi in the morning and sometimes during the day. After about 6pm, you can forget about using it. We have been using a lot of cell data lately.

Covid-19 restrictions were lifted a little. Tents and the cabins were open, but not many people used them.

We went out to our first sit down lunch in a restaurant since February. A little cafe in Port Orford was open. They had 3 tables open for people to sit at. The cafe is called The Nest and they served local grown food when they can. Jan had a lamb burrito and I had a lamb burger. Both were great.

Sigh seeing has been difficult. State parks and beaches are still closed. We found a couple open for day use. A county park on Lake Floras was open and it is the local wind and kite surfing spot. Pictures are attached.

The marina in Bandon is open. We have eaten there a few times. Crab and fish tacos on the boardwalk one day and fish and chips another day. We also found the Bandon Brewing Company brewery and pizzeria. We went there twice. We shared a flight. After that, Jan had the wheat beer (The Wind in the Wiesenbock) both times, and I had an IPA (Pier Coincidence) one day and a red ale (REO Red) the next. I also had my growler filled with an IPA called Disco Haze.

That’s enough for one day.
