We drove through the Louisiana swamps and made it to New Orleans.
Unfortunately, the good view is in the back of the trailer so we only see this unless we go outside.
If we go outside, we can see this behind us.
If we walk to the end of the dock, we can see this.
We are definitely on the Mississippi River.
We haven't made plans yet, but we are 12 minutes from the French Quarter, according to the RV Park. We need to go out and eat. We need to taste the difference between Cajun and Creole cooking. I don't know if we can get in to Emeril's. A jacket is suggested. People have been giving us recommendations like Copelands (the family behind Popeye's Chicken). I guess their restaurants are better than Popeye's. We will definitely wander around Bourbon Street. Maybe we will take a horse carriage to the Garden District. If we can, we want to take a nighttime graveyard tour. Everyone suggests Uber or Lyft and not drive around on our own. I'm ok with that.
In house news, we had to sign 32 pages of disclosures today. They were all e-sign so it was fast. The last document was not e-sign. I had to download it, print it, both of us sign it, then scan and upload it. It was like being back in the 1990's.
If gas prices get much higher, we talked about cancellation all our reservations and staying in one place until gas prices go down. If we need to do it, then we will probably hunker down in Houston and get to know the area better. At $5.50 per gallon, it probably won't take much for us to pull the plug on driving.
