Oceano, CA Part 2

We have been here a week now.

It's not a bad place to stay, but it's not a great one either. I bet that in the summer, this place is a crowded madhouse.

Our major gripe about this place is the water pressure. We have an on-demand water heater and it requires a minimum amount of water pressure to work. If the water pressure is not high enough then it won't turn on. That's bad enough, but sometimes you can start your shower with hot water, but half way through, the water pressure drops because more people are using water, and then your shower goes cold. Oh well, it's only temporary.

The picture above, is from a butterfly grove in Pismo Beach. Every year, the Monarch Butterflies return here for the winter, then in February, they head back north. They always come back to this same grove.

This place advertises the fact that you can walk to the beach from the RV Park. That's actually true, but what they don't tell you is that it is a 30 minute walk up and down sand dunes. It's an interesting walk, but not one you want to take if you are hauling stuff to lounge on the beach. I walked it with just a camera so it wasn't too bad.

You can see the RV park in the last picture. I was on the top of a dune looking backwards. The pictures where you can see the ocean were about 15 minutes later.

There are more pictures on the California Photos page.

Tomorrow, we head inland. We will be staying over 2 weeks near Palm Springs.
