Perry, GA Part 2

I promised a post about Perry, Georgia and here it is.

That is one of Brie's new friends. The turtle probably weighs as much as Brie.

Here is her other new friend.

I can't tell if the the goat is playing or trying to head butt Brie. There is a video of the encounter at the end of the post.

We talked to a couple of people at the RV park and they were in Perry to see family. That's probably all you need to know about how exciting Perry is. I guess the other reason people come to Perry is for the county fairgrounds and all the horse and livestock shows. The park has a large barn for horses and livestock. The fairgrounds is less than a mile away.

We did try to find things to do in Perry, but it was hard. The Indian mounds would have been interesting if it was open. The airplane museum was closed. We went to a tap house, and tried to have fun, but half the menu was crossed off. That includes the beers as well as the food.

For excitement, we went hunting. The trailer was infested with stink bugs at the Carolina Landing park. The first 2 days in Perry, we caught and squished about 40 of the damn bugs. You can't hit them with a fly swatter because they stink. You have to catch them in a paper towel or napkin, wrap them up in a few layers (all sides of the bug) and squish them. That way, the stink juice doesn't leak out against your fingers. It did make the trash can smelly. We are still finding bugs here in Brunswick. One today and 2 or 3 yesterday. They have to eventually run out.

We tried to get the cable connection fixed, but the RV repair guys couldn't find the cable splitter. It could be anywhere. It took 3 guys about an hour to do nothing. We ended up running the cable wire in through a window and plugging that directly into the TV.

Perry is basically just a place to stay while you are going someplace else.

The park was nice and Brie loved the dog park (because of the goats and a very large red ball). The dog park was just a dirt pen. I would give it a 3, but Brie gives it a 9. Brie can't give it a ten, because when she chased tennis balls, she got a lot of dirt and dust into her nose and mouth. She would chase the ball and then cough after she caught it.

The rest of the park was fine. Nice shady and wide streets with pull throughs. I had no problems getting in or leaving. We would only stay here again if we need a place to stop while we are heading somewhere else.

Here is a video of Brie playing with.a goat.
