We are now in upper Michigan, near the tip of the state.
The roads were terrible on the drive. Pretty much all the highway from Detroit to Port Huron and Port Huron to Saginaw is under construction. At least this trip wasn't stop and go like near Detroit. All the slow downs added at least an extra half an hour to the trip. It was a long trip to begin with and with construction slow downs, it took a almost 6 hours.
We didn't feel like cooking after setting up the trailer so we went to the Petoskey Brewing Company for dinner. I had a good amber ale and Jan had a Hefeweizen. For dinner, I had a burger and Jan had boneless wings and we shared an order of cheese curds for an appetizer. The building was built in 1898 for the original Petoskey Brewery which was known for Petoskey Sparkle Beer. It shut down in 1915. The new brewery started in 2012. It was a lot of different things in the century between breweries. There are more breweries in Petoskey so we may hit at least one more.
We didn't really do anything yesterday. The most exciting thing we did was go to the grocery store. Today is a little more active, but not exciting. We need to wash all the bedding. Porter needed to go potty at 2:30 so I took him outside. He peed a little, but then got scared because people were talking so he ran back in the trailer. I put him back on the bed and he promptly peed on my side of the bed. We had to strip the bed and remake it with dry bedding. I am washing the sheets in the trailer, but the blanket and the mattress topper have to go to the laundromat here at the park.
Jan made an appoint for a pedicure at 1pm so I will drop her off and then go to Walmart for some stuff. Like I said, busy, but not exciting.
This is a nice park. It is clean and well maintained. Even the seasonal section is clean and picked up. At other parks, a lot of the seasonal trailers look like they should be hauled to the dump, not here. They are under construction to add new sections to the park, but since it has been raining, they aren't working right now. That means no noise from them. The dog park is a disappointment. It is only dirt and since it rained, it is now mud. Poor Brie is upset because she can't go in it.
Petoskey is a nice place to spend the summer. It doesn't get too hot and you are near 2 Great Lakes and a bunch of smaller lakes. If you have a boat, you can spend all summer on the water. It is not a great place for us to live though. We don't want to deal with the winter snow and temperatures they get.
