The truck is working again. I had a small scare before I dropped the truck off. I took it in and they gave me the estimate. I got up the next morning to take it back and I noticed that the front tire was low. I took a closer look.
Yup. Sometime between taking the truck in for an estimate and taking it back the next morning, I ran over 2 pieces of metal. They were causing a slow leak. I made it to the tire place ok, and it's a good thing I was getting new tires anyway, otherwise, it would have been one surprise tire.
The trailer accident claim is moving along. I have an appointment in Placerville when we get there. Progressive already works with this repair place so all I have to do is pay the deductible. We also have a housing stipend while the trailer is in the shop. We need to find a place that accepts dogs.
Other than that, we haven't done anything. No truck meant no driving around. After we got the truck back today, we drove to Redding. Porter had chewed up Jan's flip-flops and she needed a new pair. I was going to get a haircut while she was shopping, but when I got there, the waiting list was 3 hours long. I don't need a haircut that badly.
I wrote most of this yesterday, but we had a cellular outage. We were coming home from Redding and Jan noticed 2 trucks parked next to the cell tower. Just after we got back to the trailer, we noticed that neither of our phones had any service. It only sort of came back online and we had 0 to 1 bars all evening. It seems to be back up this morning.
