We had a nice day yesterday (Saturday). The weather cooled off and the smoke has cleared up. Ignore the picture of the bike for a couple of paragraphs.
Red Bluff Beef and Brew was fun. You get a small mug and then you start walking up and down Main St and Walnut St. Some businesses had beer tastings. They usually had 2 different beers and they filled your little mug up about halfway. Most were craft breweries from around Northern California. Out on the streets, a bunch of BBQ's, catering companies, and some restaurants had appetizers. One appetizer per stop. All appetizers were beef of some kind. Some were good and some, not so much. Jan got one with a long blond hair in it. That one was bad. It was hard to get drunk on those small cups, but some people managed it.
At the end of the night, we went to the clock tower square where we got a tri-tip wrap and a full beer. Dolores and Larry were cooking the tri-tips so we talked to them for a while. Once the band started up, though, no more talking was possible. It's funny, the beer they served there at the end was from Eel River Brewing. Our last stop before Red Bluff was Fortuna and we went and had lunch at Eel River Brewing.
This morning, a guy was supposed to come over and wash and wax the trailer. this was the third time he was supposed to show up because he kept rescheduling. It was drizzling and he said he couldn't wax it in the rain and asked if we could reschedule. Sorry, but no. We had already rescheduled 3 times.
Then the bad news sank in. Since I thought the trailer was getting washed, I took the bikes off the trailer and chained them to a tree. Well, sometime in the night, someone came by and cut the lock off. Only my bike was stolen, they didn't take Jan's bike. The cops said that it was probably 1 guy who took the bike and left. He couldn't take 2 bikes. I gave the police all the information about the bike including the serial number. The cops said it is a distinctive bike so it's possible we could get it back. I am not holding my breath.
On a lighter note, today was visiting day. Leonard and Janelle stopped by and we talked for a couple of hours. After that, we went over to Dolores and Larry's for dinner. Larry grilled a couple of steaks. We let Brie and Porter loose to run around, and they went on a short freedom run. Porter didn't go very far, just to the other side of the house. Brie went on an adventure. She went next door with the sheep and goats. Boy was she happy. To top off her most favorite day, I gave her left over steak for dinner. Now she's sleeping.
