It's been a while and I have skipped 3 states. Oh well.
The place we are staying is actually better than this picture would lead you to believe. At first, they wanted to put is in the Thousand Trails free spots which are right on the highway into Acadia National Park. It is near Memorial Day so the traffic on the highway is terrible. For a price, they moved us to the interior of the park. There is nobody around us for 3 sites. Here is another picture from the park that looks out over the bay.
This picture was taken about mid-tide. At high tide, all the ground in front of you is under water. At low tide, it's dry almost out to the long bar you see out there.
This picture is low tide from the same place only looking toward the bridge onto Mt Desert Island. That's the island that Acadia National Park is on, Mt Desert Island. There is no desert and it is not deserted. It's an ironic name I guess.
Since we have been here, we have sampled the local cuisine. Here are some shots of it.
I still need to download and edit the pictures from Acadia National Park. When I do, I will put them out on the Maine Photo page.
By the way, all the photos from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire are out there on the state photos pages. I have also rearranged the State Photo launching page. I have added all 50 states and Washington DC. The dark green buttons are states that have pictures. The light blue buttons are states that are blank so far. I will add them as we hit them.
I promise more blogs about what I skipped.
