It’s been a while since my last post and we are in a new place.
As far as Thousand Trails campgrounds go, this one is pretty good.
The roads are decent. They are not the pot holed mess that other parks have been. The roads are also wide enough for large trailers. Something I hate from the Carolina Landing park. Finally, trees are not a problem. There are lots of trees and they don't get in your way.
Brie is not impressed with the dog park. It is small and muddy. There are no poop bags, but you are expected to pick up after your dog. The only thing she likes about it was a plastic pig. She loved to tear it apart. I put it on a picnic table and she ran around the table until she found a place to jump. She actually worked out how to jump on the bench and then jump up on the table. At that point, I had to through the piggy away. We didn't want her choking on the pieces.
The park is along the Peace River.
It's a nice walking trail. They warn of alligators and snakes, but it is the wrong time of year and we haven't seen anything.
The town of Wauchula is nothing to write home about. It's just a small town with an economy based on agriculture. Mostly they grow oranges and cattle. We have to drive 30 miles for trailer supplies.
We are here for 2 weeks, but there isn't much to do. That's great for our budget. The most exciting thing we have done is to go bike riding. I have also brewed another batch of beer. More on that on another post.
I have too many photos. I am in the process of making a photo page for each state.
