We survived the trip from Odessa and we are in Weatherford for the weekend.
We won't be keeping the window blinds open. The view from the picture window is terrible, as you can see, and the sun beats down from that direction. At 108°, we keep the blinds closed and put up the foil insulation sheets over the windows on the sunny side of the trailer.
Best Road Name of the Trip: Noodle Dome Rd
This KOA is ok. It is small and the sites are cramped. One section seems to be for long term trailers and too many of them don't keep their sites cleaned up. Our section seems to be for weekenders. The sites have grass and the dog park is in the meadow near the section. As far as dog parks go, this is a solid 3 stars. It has green grass and a tree for shade. That's about all you can say about it. It's small, but does the job.
Last night we went out for dinner. The trailer was hot after being towed for 7 hours. Even with 2 air conditioners running, it took 2 hours to get it below 90°. We gave the dogs frozen kongs and went to find air conditioning. The place we stopped at is called the Mesquite Pit. I had BBQ brisket and Jan had a baked potato with BBQ chicken on top. The frozen margarita's were definitely necessary.
When we leave on Monday, we have to stop at the RV dealer so they can look at out trailer. They need to figure out how to move the washer/dryer to the new trailer and they need to make sure the hitch will work.
