Yuma - Not Much Going On

My last post was at New Years and not much excitement has happened since then.

All we have really been doing is cleaning and working on the trailer. After 2 years of living in a rolling house, lots of little things add up. I did finish the counter top in the pantry.

We basically had to refinish the dining room table too, but at least I didn't have to build it.

The truck is back from the shop. The insurance company gave us 30 days of a rental car, but the truck took 33 days to finish so we had to pay for the last 3 days. We got the insurance company rates instead of the usual rate you get if you walk in the door. That saved us some money.

The shop did a good job with the truck. No visible dents. They even touched up some paint scratches that weren't part of the hail damage.

House News:

The house is done except for the sod. We have an appointment for closing on Feb. 14 at noon. We get the keys when the funds clear. We hope it's the next day.

As you can see, we have plants and dirt. You can also see that the neighbor's grass is dead. They use St Augustine grass which goes dormant when it gets cold. I won't have to mow the lawn until March or April.

Just for comparison, here is the first picture from when we looked at the lot.

Here is when construction started.

Just for fun, here is the photo from the builder's website showing the same model home. It looks almost the same. They added light so you can see the front door, while in my picture, above, it's just a dark walkway.
